Asad, our Medical Courier has been working with us for almost 5 years now, let's take a look at his typical work day at Medical Logistics.
Asad usually wakes up around 6:30 am and gets ready for the day. From Monday To Wednesday, he does courier work starting at 8 am and finishing at around 4:30 pm. At Medical Logistics, we currently have 3 electric cars available (and we're planning to go fully electric by the end of 2023!), so he always drives an electric car provided by us. The main part of his courier work is to transport Histology boxes between Barnet Hospital and Royal Free Hospital. On top of this, he does 2 pick-ups from a small fertility clinic called Herts and Essex Fertility Centre (in Cheshunt) to a lab in W1 called the Path Lab. He also transports samples for Eurofins and The Doctors Laboratory - 2 of the biggest laboratories in the UK.
For the courier work, he typically covers the areas from Barnet EN5 4BZ to Hampstead Heath NW3 2QG, and Cheshunt EN8 9XP to Upper Wimpole W1G 6LL. On the weekends, he helps out with controlling - which he does from home between 8 am and 6 pm.
On average he works 45 hours every week and as a medical courier, he usually completes 5 to 6 jobs on a daily basis.
Asad receives all the courier jobs through our ML Courier App that we developed in order to offer a smooth process for our clients and couriers. Whenever the job is complete, couriers notify our controllers through the ML App or the WhatsApp group that they have been assigned to. All the necessary communication with the controllers is done through WhatsApp messages or phone calls.
Asad says he truly enjoys working with us and that he’s already learned a lot during these past 5 years. He definitely is an important part of our team and we’re grateful for all of his hard work and dedication!
